1. Working principle
The wet ball mill is mainly composed of a cylinder, grinding medium (steel ball or ceramic ball), motor, reducer, feeding device, and discharging device. The material is mixed with water or other liquids and enters the cylinder from the feeding end. When the cylinder rotates, the grinding medium is lifted to a certain height under the action of centrifugal force and friction force, and then falls down, causing impact and grinding on the material. The ground material is discharged from the discharge end in the form of slurry.
2. Main features
Wet grinding: suitable for materials that need to be mixed with water or other liquids.
High grinding efficiency: Wet grinding can reduce material adhesion and improve grinding efficiency.
Uniform particle size: The material ground by wet ball mill has a narrow particle size distribution, which is suitable for fine grinding operations.
Wide applicability: It can be used for grinding various materials such as metal ores, non-metal ores, chemical raw materials, etc.
Good environmental performance: Wet grinding can reduce dust pollution.
3. Application Fields
Mining industry: used for wet grinding of metal ores such as gold, copper, iron, lead and zinc.
Building materials industry: used for wet grinding of materials such as cement, limestone, quartz sand, etc.
Chemical industry: used for wet grinding of chemical products such as pigments, coatings, ceramic raw materials, etc.
Environmental protection industry: used for sludge grinding in sewage treatment.
4. Difference from dry ball mill
Grinding method: Wet ball mill adopts wet grinding, while dry ball mill adopts dry grinding.
Discharge form: Wet ball mill discharges slurry, while dry ball mill discharges powder.
Scope of application: Wet ball mills are suitable for handling materials that are prone to adhesion or require mixing with water, while dry ball mills are suitable for handling dry materials.
5. Main structure
Cylinder: welded from steel plates, lined with wear-resistant materials (such as rubber or ceramic) inside.
Grinding medium: Steel balls or ceramic balls are usually used, selected according to the characteristics of the material.
Transmission device: including motor, reducer and gear, driving the cylinder to rotate.
Feeding device: used to feed materials and liquids into the cylinder.
Discharge device: used to discharge the slurry after grinding.
6. Selection and maintenance
Selection: Choose the appropriate wet ball mill model based on factors such as material hardness, particle size requirements, and processing capacity.
Maintenance: Regularly check the wear of lining plates and grinding media, and replace them in a timely manner. Check the lubrication of transmission components to ensure smooth operation of the equipment. Clean the residual materials inside the cylinder to prevent blockage.
7. Common problems and solutions
Uneven discharge particle size: It may be due to inappropriate filling rate of grinding medium or excessive feeding amount, and parameters need to be adjusted.
Leakage of slurry in the cylinder: It may be due to damage to the sealing device and needs to be replaced in a timely manner.
Equipment vibration: It may be due to unbalanced cylinder or damaged bearings, and the machine needs to be shut down for maintenance.
